Why Easter Still Matters in a Lonely Age

I feel like I have been around the world and back in 80 days! I guess in a way I have actually
My head is buzzing,
I get it that God created us to be in relationship with Him and each other! ( duh)
In the same way, we may have had imaginary friends when we were little
God created us to be with and relate to and to have fun and to love and care for us and us for Him, some might say to be His pets, but

• He created us to be His Family
• His Children

We were not created to be alone and to live in isolation from each other

I am saying this because of social media

I love it in so many positive ways and I hate it for the reason that it is gradually dehumanising us to each other

This is why we have trolls, invisible attackers and oppressors and judges
They hide behind the machine that is SM

But worst of all they are desensitised to the fact that they are attacking and upsetting real breathing people!
As it all feels like a video game, there is this massive wall between people that buffers our senses and actions and words don’t seem real or as powerful as they actually are!

There is so much inauthenticity and people know it , so slowly we just don’t seem real at all to each others, just more like robots on this sm game

This is so dangerous
Suicide is the number one killer of people!
Caused by isolation and depression

EVEN though people have phones and can go on social media, we see that SM just isn’t actually very sociable at all!!

You have to be truly dissociated to follow through and kill yourself, I think.

I know it’s not just as simple as that and I know how people left behind can feel anger and confusion as to why the person didn’t tell them how they were feeling and they would have been there for them but somehow they were still able to disengage.

The other danger is once you disengage from people.. humanity. You can kill a person with the same level of remorse or lack of remorse that some feel when they crush a bug, a spider or a rat.

When we disconnect from each other, we become capable of inhumane acts, feelings and thoughts.

Look how Trump disassociates with the Trans Community as if they are not as human as he is!
In the same way, there was a time when black people were considered to be more like animals then humans and therefore incapable of feeling pain!

Fear and jealousy of the unknown or the different is a huge problem; instead of leaning in to understand, we vilify, dehumanise and disassociate to anyone outside of our idea of what is correct or like ourselves

Yet we all exist by the same principles and God created specifics.

Holy Spirit Breath in our lungs, Life Fuel of Blood in our veins, a Soul, Spirit, Heart and the need of Water and Human Connection aka Love

Cain didn’t kill Abel because he was jealous. He killed him because his jealousy allowed him to disassociate and disconnect with his brother !!!! (Am I my brother’s keeper?)
Jealousy doesn’t make you feel good, but it does not make you kill!

Even anger doesn’t make you kill

But disassociation allows you to take the life of another human with the same attitude, a lot

Some people have to kill a bug or mosquito, as just as something annoying or inconvenient.

We are not meant to disengage when there is tension; we are not meant to judge each other

We have to try hard not to become Censorious – sitting in judgment of others, even though life seems to have become one big reality show of showing off and asking for approval or dismissal Hunger Games!

The Bible says to first remove the plank from our own eyes and then once we have done so effectively, then we can attempt to remove the spec in someone else’s eye

In other words

We must not be hypocritical and not expect to hold others to standards that we are not willing to keep to ourselves.

Jesus actually demands that we work in mercy and compassion with each other.

The people that we don’t consider our kind of people in our own snobbish ways , they deserve to be noticed, acknowledged, respected and listened to.

When we do this, we place a cloak of dignity around their shoulders.

We show them that they are Seen, Valued. Noticed, Respected, Accepted, Liked and Loved by God, that they Matter

Often, these people end up being the most interesting and unexpected missing pieces to the puzzles of life!

I know this is not rocket science, but it is something that I notice about being back in London compared to being in Harrogate for example,

There is a reason that London is called the “ Loneliest City in the World”
I actually disagree and think that LA is, but anyway, statistically, London wins…

It just makes me want to be a better Human Being, to not disassociate, to be conscious and available and engaged with others.

We are all just Souls here having a human experience. No one wants to be the one who missed the opportunity to make someone else feel special and connected.

I hope and pray for amazing things for us all.
Things we may even be too afraid to hope for ourselves or believe we can ever pull off
I pray for abundance in all areas of goodness
I believe in the impossible becoming possible for us all in Full Faith and Trust
